Here are the top five stories in Raleigh today: After discussing options regarding the mask mandate in Wake County, Mayor Mary-Ann Baldwin has said that "our numbers are not there yet." When lifting the mask mandate was initially considered, numbers were far below where they are at now. City officials will meet again in two weeks to discuss next steps. (CBS17)Democrats are calling for a non-partisan redistricting committee to redraw voting maps. Ten states currently have commissions with the primary responsibility of drawing congressional maps, and in the past Republicans and Democrats have spoken in favor of the idea. Trial court judges that are overseeing the redraw have expressed plans to appoint an expert to help advice them as the new maps are created. (FOX8)Raleigh's historic Seaboard Station is in phase one of the redevelopment process, and the new owners held a public hearing on Tuesday to discuss plans. The current conceptual plan shows a 12-story parking deck where the historic train station stands today. An action coalition from the nearby neighborhood have formed a committee to save the Seaboard Station and emphasize that the historic station should be the centerpiece of the new development. (WRAL)Researchers at NC State University are using planes that flew in Cold War spy missions to study winter snow storms. The two NASA Lockheed ER-2 planes soar up to 70,000 feet in the atmosphere and are helping study "cloud physics." The multi-year project will gather data similarly to how special planes gather data in the eye of a hurricane to help provide more accurate and detailed forecasts. (WRAL)Police have arrested Sharod Ruffin of Wake Forest in connection to the hit-and-run crash that killed a woman and seriously injured a AAA worker on Sunday. The AAA worker is still fighting for his life after the incident. Tow truck drivers and other road assistance workers are covered by the state's Move Over Law, but with recent events they are calling for stricter enforcement.
