Assistance League Welcomes Broadway Plaza's Return to Thrift Shop

Established in 1978, Assistance League® Thrift Shop at the Way Side Inn, located at 3521 Golden Gate Way in Lafayette, is the primary fundraiser for Assistance League of Diablo Valley's 16 philanthropic programs. Since 2006, the organization has enjoyed a Corporate Partnerships rapport, where employee volunteers from local businesses and corporations become hands-on involved with our philanthropic mission. In earlier years, the Broadway Plaza Corporate Partners volunteers had coordinated denim collection events at Broadway Plaza, as well as participated in the nationally acclaimed Operation School Bell® clothing events at the Chapter Offices in Walnut Creek. During the recent Christmas holidays, Broadway Plaza provided a strategically located store window, where Assistance League of Diablo Valley could display items reflective of its hands-on programs. And the corporate partnership continues… On Monday, February 7, a team of Broadway Plaza Corporate Volunteers again returned to share their creative expertise in window display. Effortlessly, they selected and arranged donated boots, hats, belts, handbags and apparel for the Western Pioneer Days & Southwestern Jewelry Event, which launched an overwhelming success. The longstanding corporate partnership that Assistance League of Diablo Valley values with Macerich-Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek surpasses "social responsibility." It celebrates the pride of two civic-minded organizations who share a mission as they make a difference.
