DETROIT — The 62nd annual Detroit St. Patrick's Day Parade will return for the first time since 2019, the The United Irish Societies announced Wednesday. The the last two parades were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The parade will be held on Sunday, March 13 at 1:00 p.m. in Detroit's Corktown neighborhood. The parade will start near Sixth Street and Michigan Avenue and continue west to 14th Street. "We're looking forward to the biggest and most successful Detroit St. Patrick's Parade in our history," UIS President Michael Kelly said. "We'll transform Corktown, Detroit's oldest neighborhood, and Michigan Avenue, home to industry, dreamers, entrepreneurs and more, into a celebration of Irish history, culture and opportunity." Detroit's St. Patrick's Day Parade typically attracts 80,000-100,000 people, making it one of the largest St. Patrick's parades in the country. The parade features floats, marching bands as well as color guard units. The parade will also feature a Family Fun Zone, which will include live Irish entertainment, inflatables, food and private restrooms. It will be located in the northeast corner of Michigan and Sixth Street from 12:30-3:30 p.m. You can purchase tickets here, which are $12. per person or $60 for six tickets.
