Emergency Work On Mass Pike Bridge Means Closures Near Worcester

AUBURN, MA — MassDOT will close a major I-290 off-ramp on Wednesday for emergency bridge repairs along the Mass Pike, the agency said. MassDOT crews need to make repairs along a bridge that crosses Route 12 in Auburn. The bridge connects westbound I-290 to the eastbound and westbound sides of the Mass Pike. Traffic will detour around the repair site from Worcester at exit 11B, which connects to Route 20 westbound toward the on-ramps in Sturbridge. As an alternate, drivers from Worcester can access the Mass Pike via Route 146 southbound. The detour will begin at 10 p.m. Wednesday and last until 5 a.m. on Thursday, according to MassDOT.
