Farm Mechanic for a commercial grain farm that has both conventional and organic acres. This position is for ensuring the production of high quality, high volume and cost-effective crop production. This individual will work on an as-needed basis to see that the farm runs smooth and crops are grown and maintained in a timely manner. Essential Duties: Crop Production: • Maintain, and service of all farm equipment, Tractors, Trucks, combines, tile equipment, Buildings, Gain Bins. • Operate application equipment and self propelled sprayer • Operate cultivators for organic crops when not spraying in May and June (attention to detail is a must! ) • Operate tine weeder and rotary hoe in May and June • Properly document record all organic records for field work operations • Operate semi trucks delivering grain within a 100 mile radius of farm • Operate combine in fall on a as needed case • Operate grain cart semis tillage equipment in fall • Operate, back hoe, tile stringer, for drainage tile, • assist with building organic equipment • haul grain with semi truck • General farm labor – Including anything farm related that is needed for crop production or maintenance of farm equipment or facilities.
