From the City of Dexter: December 9, 2019 Below is a message from the Washtenaw County Road Commission regarding a MDOT Rail project involving the Viaduct Railroad Bridge in Downtown Dexter. More information will be provided once it is available. WHEN: Starting the Week of December 9, 2019 WHERE: The Dexter Viaduct Railroad bridge over Island Lake Road between Eastridge Drive and Dexter-Chelsea Road on the border of Webster and Scio Townships WHY: Railroad work on the bridge BACKGROUND: Starting later this week, MDOT Office of Rail will close the Dexter Viaduct Railroad bridge over Island Lake Road between Eastridge Drive and Dexter-Chelsea Road on the border of Webster and Scio Townships during the day to conduct work on the bridge. The bridge will be closed to all traffic during the day and reopen each afternoon. The exact start date of this closure will be determined soon, and an additional advisory will be sent out. It is likely that the daytime closures will begin later this week. Once started, the work is expected to last a couple of days. DETOUR: Click here for the detour map.
