Electro-Mechanical Technician Wanted - Starting wage $22.00 Western Technology, Inc. (www.westerntechnologylights.com) is seeking an industrial lighting technician to add to our Service Department team. Position is suited for experienced to intermediate skill level. Some previous electro-mechanical assembly is important. The candidate must have the ability to work with hand tools and following both verbal and written instructions. There will be occasional repetitive procedures and motion. Familiarity of wire gauge, soldering, wire crimping, test equipment, basic electronics will be taken into consideration for hiring. The ideal candidate may be… Perhaps somebody who is good with appliance repair, installing a car stereo, putting furniture together, home wiring, lawn mower repair, automotive repair, building a computer from scratch, etc. Desired Skills / Work Description • Wire / cable Striping (Aware of wire gauge sizing.) • Wire / ring terminal, closed end, and butt splice crimping. • Work with shrink tubing. • Using hand tools such as: wire stripers, crimpers, screwdrivers, box wrenches, hex wrenches, torque wrenches, bench vices, scrapers, razor knives, chisels, etc. • Have worked with aluminum. • Use power tools such as: drills, drill press, heat gun. • Ability to perform repetitive procedures and motion. • Periodically lift up to 40 lbs. • Stand or sit for long periods of time. • Most time spent working at a bench • Don’t mind getting a little dirty. (Silicone, grease, dried mud, epoxy) • Cleaning work area. • May assist with inventory counting, stocking, shipping and receiving Bonus Desired Skills • Ability to hand solder 18-16 gauge wire onto a circuit board. • Familiar with a Volt / Ohm meter • Some knowledge of AC/DC electrical. (Line, neutral, ground, positive, negative.) • Ability to remove a stuck stainless steel bolt from aluminum • Shipping (Back up.) • Forklift certified (Back up.)
