ALBANY, CA — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories. This submission comes from Elnora Cameron who nominated Janna Katz of Albany. Name: Janna Katz State: CA Home town: Albany Hero's job: She makes masks for COVID and gives half the money to the Make A Wish Foundation. Relationship to nominee: She is my neighbor Reason for recognition: She barely covers her costs and definitely does not cover her time. She is selling the masks for very little and still manages to buy material and sell masks for the Make a Wish Foundation. One thing to know: Janna is the quintessential neigborhood organizer - she tirelessly pulls our community together and cares about people.
