Hammond/Rhodes/Piano player wanted by Americana/Soul band

We’re a female singer/lead and rhythm guitarist and a male drummer on an indie label with a newly recruited guitarist and bassist, and we’re looking for a keyboard player who’s experienced playing soul/rock/Americana in bands. We’re in Chicago and recently relocated here from LA. Our music is soul-influenced Americana. Some influences: Staple Singers, Teenie Hodges, James Gadson… The focus is original material, but we do a few covers. Our latest album received positive reviews in American Songwriter and other music press in the U.S. and Europe. No hired guns/jobbers. We’re in our mid-40’s (with day jobs in the music industry). You need to have a love for, and understanding of, classic rhythm and blues, Memphis soul, and gospel music besides Americana. You’ve got to be able to play with dynamics, know how to “play for the song,” and think like an arranger. Backing vocal abilities are strongly preferred. Being reliable, a prompt communicator, and having your gear/wheels in great shape goes without saying. You MUST include video and audio links of your playing (that preferably are in the same genre as us) in your response. All gig proceeds are split equally between everybody in the band.
