Making signs, plaques and CNC carved art Learn how to use a CNC router and VCarve Pro to create a sign or similar. You will use text and graphics to create a “carved” sign as the class project. You will learn: How to design a project for a CNC RouterGeneral use of VCarve Pro CAD/CAM SoftwareTechniques for a successful projectHow to safely use a CNC Router to cut your projectSuccessful completion of this course will earn you CNC certification to allow you to use the North End Makerspace Millright V router if you are a makerspace member. Unlimited use of VCarve Pro Makerspace Client for members. No prerequisites required though previous usage of CAD software is very helpful. If you have a Windows Laptop, please bring it so you can install the VCarve Pro software. There are PCs at the Makerspace that can also be used. If you have a USB thumb drive, please bring that as well. Supplies will be provided. How to find us: We are in the first floor of the apartment building. Enter the main door and proceed past the elevators. Take the first hallway to the right. Exterior doors lock at 8:30pm. If you are not a member with a door code, please plan to arrive before then. North End Makers is a community that runs a makerspace in North Seattle. We are an all-volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit. Masks and social distancing enforced. IMPORTANT INFO: Refund policy: We currently do not offer refunds or transfers between classes. You may, however, transfer your ticket to another person who is 18 or older. If you need help finding someone to take your spot, you are welcome to post in the class event on our Facebook page or Discord, or ask us to share your email address with the class waitlist. For your personal safety, please wear closed-toe shoes, tie long hair back, and avoid any dangling jewelry or baggy clothing. You do not need to bring a paper ticket. Save a tree. We host learning and making events in the Edmonds/Shoreline area.
