A celebration for and about women, honoring women everywhere! Join us for this free event! SUMMARY: Women Hold the Key presents Festa Della Donna – an evening for and about women – in honor of International Women’s Day. We are modeling our event after the annual celebration in Italy – where Women’s Day is celebrated throughout the country as a time to honor women’s struggles, victories and the push to move towards economic, political & social equity. The event will take place on Tuesday March 8th, 2022 from 5pm – 8pm at Vashon Center for the Arts. This is a free-admission event with donations gladly accepted. This event requires proof of a current COVID vaccination or test within 48 hours as well as the wearing of masks indoors during the event. STORY: “Imagine a gender-equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women's equality. Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.” Women Hold the Key partners with INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY www.internationalwomensday.com to lift our own community, celebrate local women and their achievements and be in community with each other in another year that sees the struggle for connection amidst a global pandemic. The evening will highlight local women-owned businesses, food, authors, artists, and performers. A few very special guests will stop by that you won’t want to miss! There will be activities and small gifts to take home. Food and drink will be available to purchase and eat outside under cover and warmth. Join us for an hour or the whole evening – any amount in the company of women is not too little. Bring your mother, sister and friends to celebrate, uplift and inform about ways we can all #BreakTheBias. ABOUT WOMEN HOLD THE KEY: Our mission is to imbue women with: Compassion for the self – personal agency building. Connection – to our own needs and to those of our neighbors. Community – building local and global communities that support and honor all females (and those who identify as such). We do this through the giving and wearing of a personal amulet, through monthly community building meetings, through programming designed to connect women intergenerationally, and through various events that highlight and celebrate women everywhere.
