Description

Animate yourself like a cartoon character! Do impossible things like disappear and fly with a little help from a stop-motion pixilation! Animator Joseph Sullivan will help guide participants through the art of pixilation, the process of using live actors (you!) to create stop-motion animations. Participants will think of an action or movement to perform (usually something you can’t do in real life like floating or jumping really far, but it can also be something simpler, such as waving or walking) which will be captured frame-by-frame to create a fantastical pixilation animation! We’ll be making the animations one at a time, so don’t worry if you can’t think of an action to perform ahead of time. There will be plenty of time to watch the animation process and think of what you want to do! Bio: Joseph Sullivan is a multimedia artist from Massachusetts whose work is often loose, fun, and driven by strange yet lovable characters. He graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2020 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation. Everyone who is age 3 or older will need to wear a mask while in the library, whether or not they have been vaccinated. Space in this program is very limited. Registration is required.
