Description

Guided tour of the restoration and expansion of one of Cincinnati's most beautiful libraries Join us for an inside look at renovations of Cincinnati's first Carnegie branch library in Walnut Hills. Built in 1906 in the French Renaissance style, the library was a cultural center for Cincinnatians. This project brings the library back to its orignal glory - restoring the 99-person theater, adding a community room, and preserving historic details - while adding full accessability and doubling the square footage. Thanks to Megen Construction for hosting this tour, we can't wait to show you the incredible work they are doing! Participants must be 18 years or older, be able to walk stairs, and be wearing approproate gear (PPE will be provided for anyone who needs it, further instructions on appropriate footwear/etc. will be sent out prior to the event). Tickets are limited - reserve your spot today! AFC Members - Free Non-members - $15 Students - $5 AFC’s purpose is to help people discover – and experience – the transformative power of design. Design LAB is one of our hallmark programs. The AFC offers additional programming such as the Apple Award Gala where we honor an important head figure who has contributed to the Greater Cincinnati built environment, Doors Open which gives the public a peek into buildings and offices that would otherwise not be seen by the public, and ArchiTour Cincinnati which allows the public to use an app on their smartphone to explore architecture throughout the city of Cincinnati.
