This course is an introduction to the world of bicycle mechanics. It will cover the most asked about topics.
Come learn some basic bicycle mechanics from an expert mechanic! Each class will be short and to-the-point, and you'll leave feeling more confident and capable of working on your own bike. Bicycles, materials, and tools will all be provided by Provo Bicycle Collective.
This class will cost $5/class for the general public and is free to Bicycle Collective members and Core Volunteers. Also, remember that if you volunteer 4 hours in a month, you qualify for member benefits the next month.
Class Schedule:
Lesson 1: Tube and TiresLesson 2: ChainLesson 3: BrakesLesson 4: Shifting
Bicycle Collective has made bikes and bike repair accessible to all, regardless of income since 2003. What was once a small-scale workshop in a storage unit is now a state-wide network of five brick and mortar shops (in Salt Lake City, Ogden, Provo, St. George) that repair and distribute donated bikes by the thousands each year.
