HEAVY 4/70's - 4 Band Salute - AEROSMITH/UFO/MONTROSE/THIN LIZZY "Free admission to this special event" HEAVY 4/70’s band members are veteran world renown players with many years of recording and touring. The band has its own unique take on some of the most influential Hard Rock bands of all time. A 4 band salute tribute to Aerosmith, UFO, Montrose and Thin Lizzy is the engine that fuels the bands energy which completely dominate their explosive live shows. Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, the band consist of Derek Davis/Vocals - Marc “Spyder” Webb/Guitar - Todd Baumgartner/Bass and Marty Schuchardt on Drums. BAND BIO Derek Davis, Vocalist/Front-Man, is a former Arista Records Recording Artist with hard rock band “Babylon A.D.’ signed by the legendary music mogul “Clive Davis”. While at Arista Records, the band released two critically acclaimed CDs, the self-titled Babylon A.D. (1990) and Nothing Sacred (1992). The band’s first release, Babylon A.D., went Gold and produced three “Top 10” songs on the A.O.R Metal charts: “Bang Go the Bells,” “Hammer Swings Down,” and “Kid Goes Wild” which was also the trailer track featured in the Orion Pictures’ film RoboCop 2. In 2018 the band signed to “Frontiers Records” and released “Revelation Highway” with 4 single/videos. All told Babylon A.D has released 7 albums! To date: Derek has released 12 records with various artists including his three solo records, ‘Revolt’, ’Revolutionary Soul’ and last years critically acclaimed release ‘Resonator Blues’ He is the consummate singer/songwriter, musician, producer and showman and has done extensive tours across the U.S and Europe. Guitarist, Marc “Spyder“ Webb, has played professionally since he was 17 years old. Winning guitar competitions up and down the coast of California, accumulating a stunning eight “West Coast Guitar Player Of The Year” titles in ten years. Over the past 25 years Marc has played a pivotal roll in the success of many established acts, Including GMM recording artist "Disorderly Conduct’, Who he toured with for a year in Europe and America. He’s also played with the band Planet B. opening for Tommy Lee of “Motley Crue” on a national tour. As well as a short stint touring with Arista Records recording artist Babylon A.D., Marc is also the founding member and mastermind behind the very successful Heavy Rock band “Spyder” a band that has been a staple in the music scene in and around the Bay Area for the last 7 years. Drummer, Marty Schuchardt, began his professional career in the late 80’s with the well known Bay Area act “The Shakes” A powerful Pop/Rock band who left a big imprint on the music scene with multiple tours and recordings. As drummer for “The Jimmy Lyon Band," guitarist/songwriter for Eddie Money who wrote such hits as “Two Tickets To Paradise/Baby Hold On To Me”! Marty was a driving force behind the hit songs and live performances. Marty was also a long time member of the “Greg Kihn Band” recording and touring nationally for over 11 years. Over the last 30 years Marty has established himself as one of the most sought after session and live drummers on the California West Coast. He is the ultimate professional and a master of his craft. Bassist, Todd Baumgartner, is a multi talented musician from Castro Valley CA. At a very young age Todd was influenced by the great funk and soul of bands of the 70’s like Earth Wind & Fire, The Commodores, Ohio Players among others. Playing bass guitar was his passion. As he was introduced to heavier rock bands his musicianship grew and he began playing more instruments. Keyboards, Guitar rounded his expertise as Todd became a talented singer/songwriter in his own right. Bands like Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio and Triumph spilled forth through his playing abilities. The Bay Area music scene was thriving and Todds first professional band “Wizard’ built up a large following playing all at the CA Keystone clubs and venues California had to offer, opening for bands like Dokken, Wasp, Bullet Boys, Poison, Joe Perry from Aerosmith and many others. Todd soon joined the band “Flame” as the keyboardist and back ground vocalist. Signed to Giant Records the band recorded two albums to great reviews and fanfare. Todd has played in many bands since, playing many live shows across CA, recording with various artists and is currently in the final stages of his first debut album set for release for 2022.
