Next Barn Over Farm is hiring for positions in several areas. Founded in 2009, Next Barn Over is a 50-acre, organic vegetable farm in Hadley, MA. We grow forty crops for our 800 member CSA, farmers market, and several local and regional wholesale customers. Positions Available: Tractor/Equipment Operator: Part-time or Full-time position available, April – November Responsible for operation of all tractors in our small fleet, performing everything from field prep, to planting, cultivation, and disease control. Responsible for general maintenance and minor repair tasks. Minimum of 2 years experience operating tractors and vegetable farm equipment. Work alongside field crew when tractor work is light or conditions unfavorable. Field Crew: 40-60 hours per week, April – November Field crew members are involved in all aspects of crop production including seeding in the greenhouse, transplanting, weeding, and harvesting. Washroom Assistant: 30-40 hours per week, June – October (can be combined with other positions to extend the season) Washroom assistants will work alongside our washroom manager and crew, in all post-harvest activities; including washing, sorting, packing, and delivery. Qualifications for all positions: • Enjoy farm work and are interested in organic vegetable production • Strong and efficiency-minded work ethic • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment • Ability to work in all weather conditions • Positive attitude • Desire to work closely with a team and to build good communication and a supportive atmosphere • Good attention to detail • Ability to repeatedly lift 50+ pound items • Licensed driver, comfortable operating farm vehicles We offer great compensation and a positive workplace environment.
