Longtime listener first time caller- On the patio at the standard a crew of people rolled in, one louder than the rest touting that crisco was made from animals. Pork or some such akin to lard. Crisco is by definition crystallized cottonseed oil- vegetable based. Their friends continued to joke, and one noticed my astonishment and I noticed them noticing my awareness of their conversation- or it may have been some denigrating observation of my looks, both can totally be accurate. I let it be, as the purity honor of Crisco is all that occupied my mind. I squelched my fervor and resigned to the thought that this was misinformation based on a previous inside joke. But damn after I left I nearly came back just to say- hey- Crisco is made outta cotton. Not animals. I then realized I can’t remember the last time I used Crisco for anything and continued home. I hope you were joking and actually know Crisco is made of.
