An homage to the Priestess of Soul Join the National Arts Club for a screening of the documentary film What Happened, Ms. Simone?, about the life of the great Nina Simone, an American singer, songwriter, musician, arranger, and civil rights activist. Simone's music spanned styles including classical, jazz, blues, folk, R&B, gospel, and pop. Her musical style fused gospel and pop with classical music, in particular John Sebastian Bach and that was birth of musical fusion unexpected of the times. This is an in-person event. Your health and safety are our top priorities and we are following all CDC and New York City guidance. Proof of vaccination as well as a photo ID will be required. Masks are also required. RSVP does not guarantee entry. Doors open to the public 15 minutes before the event. Please arrive early to check in. Our coat check is limited. Please do not bring any large bags or backpacks. Founded in 1898, the mission of The National Arts Club is to stimulate, foster, and promote public interest in the arts and to educate the American people in the fine arts.
