I Need Some Logs Cut Up for Use as Firewood

Description

I have some freshly cut. laurel oak logs in my driveway that I need cut into lengths of wood that are NO LONGER than 12 to 14 inches each. I have a really nice Vermont Castings Defiant Top Loading Woodstove (peaks at 56,000 BTUs per hour) that I use to heat my house. I bring my firewood into the house using a large steel wheelbarrow. To cut up these logs, you will need a very good quality chainsaw. I am no longer able to do this sort of manual labor. I just don't think that this job has my name on it. Ultimately, I need to split the logs into pieces that can range up to a maximum diameter of approximately 6 inches. Once the tree trunks are cut to the appropriate size, I am going to see how well I am able to swing my splitting maul. Fortunately my wood stove has a top loading feature that makes it easy to put the pieces of firewood into place on the fire in just the right position So, for now, I need to hire someone with a good quality chainsaw to come to my house and cut up the logs in the photos. If you want to come over to my house and give me a fixed price bid on cutting up all the logs into 12 to 16 inch lengths, please reply to this ad. Please tell me about yourself. Please tell me about your experience doing this kind of thing. Please tell me about your chainsaw (brand, make, model, condition, length of the bar, and so on). If you describe yourself as the kind of person who knows how to do this sort of work and if you have an appropriately sized chainsaw, I will respond and contact you and give you my address and you can come by my house and look at the logs and give me your bid price for cutting up the logs. I want to get prices (bids) from qualified persons and then hire someone to cut up the logs for me. I just don't have the horsepower in me to cut up tree trunks the size of these pieces of wood. About four and a half years ago, I was in the hospital for 67 days. I had a very serious permanent spinal cord injury, a six hour surgery, a four hour surgery, a 6-7 minute cardiac arrest and a stroke. I was in a coma on a ventilator and had an ancillary balloon pump in my descending aorta for 3 days. I suffered a very serious injury to my brain due to oxygen deprivation for 6-7 minutes. I was in a wheel chair for about a year. (My hospital records indicate that after 3-4 minutes of CPR the doctor performing CPR on me asked if I had a DNR on file. They almost stopped performing CPR on me. I had previously completed and signed a "Do Not Resuscitate Order". Fortunately for me, my signed DNR was not in the hospital records. It was in my attorney's files.) It took me about a year of Physical Therapy (3 PT sessions per week) to relearn how to walk. I walk in a rather spastic manner. I live by myself and I occasionally fall down. I still work full time. I used to be in great shape and always cut my own firewood. I have NEVER hired anyone to cut up firewood for me. I used to regularly cut down large oak trees on my property. I owned and regularly rode on the largest Harley Davidson they make (the Ultra Classic). Now, I must walk very carefully or I will lose my balance and fall (I do fall occasionally). I will be 70 years old in March. Using a large powerful Stihl Chainsaw is no longer a very safe activity for me. I used to own and regularly operate one of the largest professional model Stihl chainsaw with a 48 inch bar on it that cost close to $2,000 new. I sold my Professional model Stihl chainsaw to one of the local tree companies about six years ago. I still have a large Stihl chainsaw. However, I have not used it in over four and a half years. I doubt that it would start without going into the shop for a carb cleanup and "rebuild". I have never let another person operate any of my Stihl chain saws as they are very dangerous in the hands of an untrained person and even a small touch of the chainsaw into the dirt will immediately and seriously dull the chain. Not using a chainsaw for a period of four years is a sure fire formula for having to have the carb removed and cleaned out. Please excuse the length of my ad. It is a bit complicated and I have NEVER hired anyone to cut up firewood for me. I am thankful that I have a job, and have relearned how to walk and drive a car. One last thing. When you have a spinal cord injury, your spinal cord goes into something called "spinal cord shock". You lose the ability to walk or even know where your feet are located. Your ability to walk is stored in your spinal cord. My spinal cord injury occurred because I had undiagnosed staph infections growing inside my vertebrae that caused compression of the blood vessels supplying oxygenated blood to my spinal cord. A lack of blood flow to the spinal cord causes permanent injury to the cord. Everyone has their joys and sorrows in life. My joy is that I have relearned how to walk and drive a car.
