Shipping and Receiving/Facilities Technician – Skokie, IL Our client, a well-established engineering and testing firm, located in Skokie, IL is seeking a temp-to-hire, full time Shipping and Receiving/Facilities Technician. Core work hours 8AM – 5PM. Additional hours may be required for project work. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Supervision and oversight of loading dock (80 percent of time) • Receiving of trucks and incoming material. • Check shipper packing list with items received and verify accuracy of items shipped. Note items received, discrepancies and damages on packing list. • Deliver materials and mail to appropriate recipients. • Enter samples into LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System. • Use LIMS for receiving, storing, & distributing incoming materials. Facility Maintenance & Improvement (20 percent of time) • Preferred mechanical aptitude skills: carpentry/ electrical/ mechanical Preferred Experience: Some college coursework or relevant technical certification (e.g., Mechanical, electrical, etc.) Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED and vocational training 2+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Strong verbal and written skills and familiarity with MS Word & Excel.
