Join us for the fourth annual Women In Business Summit in Bell Memorial Union at CSU, Chico. Breakfast and lunch included! This event is designed to provide networking opportunities and educational break out sessions led by successful and driven business women from across the country. This year we are lucky to have two powerhouse speakers; Marisela Cerda from Microsoft and Eryn Evans from Target Corporation. Join as these amazing women share their inspiring stories. At the end of the day, stop by and bring your resume to the career fair to network with companies that have proven their support of women in the business world. Keynote Speakers Include:Marisela Cerda from Microsoft: The world and business could use a lot more women in leadership positions. Marisela Cerda will be covering what it means to show up as a leader along with eight practical practices that anyone can implement to increase their leadership capabilities. She will share examples and stories from her own personal journey at Microsoft for the last 20 years. This workshop will require you to interact with your peers while writing down your own story of leadership, how you lead today, and setting intentions for the future. Eryn Evans from Target Corporation: Join Eryn as she shares her inspiring store of her career coming out of college. When Eryn graduated, she was faced with obstacles she had not anticipated. She had to be resilient and gritty to get to the point she is today, which is a successful Store Manager for Target Corporation where she manages hundreds of employees. Listen to her story and leave with takeaways on building a strong community to support you coming out of college and leveraging all the resources Chico has. Breakout Sessions Include:Human Resources with Denise Farrel: Denise will share highlights from her human resources journey and what moments defined and shifted the direction of her career. She will walk us through discovering her passion for her work and the clarity of finding her purpose! Data Analytics with Cheryl DeLany: In this session, Cheryl talks about what it is like to be a women data analyst in an industry that is traditionally made up of men. She will walk you through the science of analyzing raw data and how it affects decision making. Financial Panel with Stacey Axtell: Financial Advisor, First Vice President-Investments for Wells Fargo Advisors, Stacy, is committed to offering financial management to individuals, families, and businesses through long term client relationships, ongoing investment advice, and trust. Along with Katie Bailey, Michael Behnke, and Gregorio Beck from Wells Fargo, this panel will allow you to gain confidence in your financial future by asking your questions and receiving expert advice from experienced and knowledgeable advisors in the finance world. Entrepreneurship with Amber Lowry: How to be authentically a woman leader and business owner. Women can inspire change, break through the glass ceiling, and make a difference by joining together to hold each other and companies accountable. This accountability includes salary transparency, being able to negotiate for salaries we not only want but also deserve, and empowering each other to let our voices be heard.
