Meet Kathy Carr, Executive Director at SECU Family House and Chuck Kraft, CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Piedmont Triad, Inc. INdeavor is a monthly luncheon, featuring a local leader, focused on topics that are relevant to your business interests and the inner workings of your local economy…so you can be INformed, INvolved and INvested in your community. A hot lunch is included! About Kathy Carr Kathy Kooken Carr was named executive director of the SECU Family House on the Richard J. Reynolds III & Marie M. Reynolds Campus in March 2010. In 2003 Kathy served on the steering committee of the Hospital Hospitality House as a liaison to the Medical Alliance of the Piedmont. In July 2009, Kathy was hired by SECU Family House as the campaign coordinator. A native of Winston-Salem and with medical professionals in her family, Kathy has felt particularly called to the Family House’s vision of caring for caregivers, and was honored to transition to Executive Director. Kathy and David live in Winston-Salem, and raised three wonderful children who are now expanding the family with spouses and grandchildren. A member of Augsburg Lutheran Church, she has also held leadership positions with the NC Lutheran Synod of the ELCA. Kathy is a 2013 graduate of Leadership Winston-Salem and also active with the Women's Council of the Novant Health Foundation. About Chuck Kraft Chuck was born and raised in Philadelphia. He came to Winston-Salem to attend Wake Forest University on a football scholarship where he was a member of the 1979 Tangerine Bowl Team. Upon graduating in 1980 with an accounting degree, he entered public accounting, earned his CPA license and worked for two local CPA firms for ten years. In 1990, he enterd the non-profit world serving the YMCA of NWNC as their CFO for 14 years. Chuck then served with Smart Start of Forsyth County for eight years. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Piedmont Triad, Inc. since September 2012, when it was Ronald House of Winston-Salem. Chuck has served RMHC Piedmont Triad as a volunteer board and/or committee member since 1986. Throughout the years, Chuck has given his time to numerous other community boards and his church. Chuck and his wife, Sue, have two adult children, a daughter and a son. Outside the office, Chuck enjoys eating out again at our great Winston-Salem restaurants and cheering on the Demon Deacons!
