Description
The Castro Valley Orchestra is looking for string players!
The Castro Valley Orchestra is a community based orchestra that has been performing in the Bay Area for over
20 years. We have players from all around the San Francisco Bay Area and play 3 or 4 concerts per year. We rehearse in Castro Valley on Tuesday evenings and are a class of the Castro Valley Adult and Career Education (Castro Valley USD). We play both standard orchestral works (eg: Beethoven, Bach and Mozart) as well as some contemporary and lesser-known works. We play because we love playing!
Our upcoming concerts are schedule for March 27th and June 5th at the Castro Valley Center for the Arts: In March we perform Wagner’s Siegfried Idyl and have several young concerto competition winners from the Holy Names University Preperatory Music Department as soloists. In June we are scheduled to perform Rachmaninov’s Second Piano Concerto.
If you are an intermediate to advanced violin, viola, cello or bass (string bass) player, and are looking for a fun, challenging group to play with, we would love to have you come join us! Send us an email or contact us via our facebook page (Castro Valley Orchestra).
We look forward to hearing from you!
