DOUGLASVILLE, GA - The Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County has awarded the winners of its annual winter art competition featuring work from Douglas County students from grades kindergarten through twelve. The show, A Winter Wonderland Students, features art based on that theme. The showcase of artwork reflects the holiday dreams of children. With many different views of what the season is about, the children's art will fill the gallery walls in holiday celebration. The CAC Gallery Committee judged this annual competition. Prizes were awarded during a reception recently. Winners of this year's art competition were judged on originality, composition, craftsmanship, and creative use of the show's theme. This year's winners are: Holly Springs Elementary 1st grader, Adaleigh Terry; Dorsett Shoals Elementary 4th grader, Joseph Moreno; Harvester Christian Academy 8th Grader, Eli Hyatt (a second time winner); and Chapel Hill High School 11th grader Lidiya Nikitenko. The recent reception featured carols by students from Eastside Elementary School. Mr. and Mrs. Claus also made a guest appearance at the reception. The exhibit will be on display until December 19, during regular business hours. Gallery admission and tours are free. The Cultural Arts Council Douglasville/ Douglas County, located at 8652 Campbellton Street in historic downtown Douglasville, Georgia, is open Mondays through Fridays, 9 am to 5 pm.
