DOUGLASVILLE, GA — A 17-year-old Douglasville girl has reached one of the top honors of musical contest shows by being chosen for a spot on The Voice. Megan Danielle was encouraged to start singing by her grandmother, according to NBC's profile of the vocalist. She was raised by a single mom with four siblings. Her mom worked as a waitress, the profile says, so it wasn't always easy growing up. She now works as a waitress, dishwasher and cashier at a restaurant her mom now manages. The profile says her mom signed her up to sing at a restaurant once and since, she's been singing at open mics. She wowed the judges with her vocals. See the video on NBC here. Megan was selected for Team Kelly. See more about Megan Danielle at NBC's The Voice profile.
