NATICK, MA — A driver hit and killed a pedestrian on the Mass Pike late Sunday night, according to state police. Police say a driver, later identified as Ryan Connearney, 26, of Framingham, was driving a 2018 Ford Fiesta when he went off the roadway and drove into a ditch on the right side of the off-ramp near exit 117, which links to Route 30 in Framingham. Police say Connearney then got out of his car and ran into the left travel lane on the westbound side when he was struck by a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze. Connearney was pronounced dead at the scene by police. An investigation is underway to determine how his car went off the road. The driver of the Chevrolet Cruze, later identified as a man from Walpole, was taken to Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham to treat the injuries he received in the crash. Police say he is expected to be okay. The collision forced the closure of the two left lanes of the Mass Pike for several hours Sunday night. No additional information was immediately available.
