Description
DOUGLASVILLE, GA - The intersection of Highway 5 and Douglas Boulevard was blocked by water from heavy rain and a clogged drain pipe Friday morning.
By mid-morning, the Georgia Department of Transportation had arrived and unclogged the stopped pipe, according to the Douglasville Police Department.
Police who were advising people to avoid the area, began letting traffic through again by about 10 a.m.
There is construction underway in one corner of the busy intersection, updating a turn lane. But that had nothing to do with the standing water, police said.
