DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Douglas County High School was put into lockdown on Wednesday due to an anonymous threat, according to the school, but was later reopened after the unverified threat was found to be innocuous. "The safety and security of our students and staff is a top priority of the Douglas County School System," the school said in a statement. "All students remained safely in their classrooms and cooperated throughout the lockdown." The school says no students were endangered or harmed during the event. School operations resumed early in the afternoon, but Douglasville police officers stayed on campus through the end of the day. "The Douglas County School System is grateful for the support and help of local law enforcement officers and safety personnel. We will continue to work alongside law enforcement to ensure our students and our campuses remain safe spaces to learn. We will also continue to invest in safety and security technologies to keep your child safe during the school day," the school said. See the school's statement.
