Here are the top five stories in Denver today: Organization to expand housing options for homeless young adults. TGTHR is building 56 units of permanent supportive housing units in Denver for young people to help get them off the street. (7News)Some are skeptical about Mayor Hancock's new plan for addressing crime. This new plan to address crime adds cops and focus on enforcement. Police, public health reform advocates aren't so sure it'll work. (Denverite)Fines for parking in bike lanes now cost double. The City of Denver expects to collect an additional $6.4 million per year with the new fines, which they say will be placed into a special revenue fund to be spent on mobility and safety improvements. (9News) Mayor Coffman proposes new version of camping ban for Aurora. The mayor said the new proposal is different because it takes away penalties that critics claimed criminalized homelessness. The proposal will go before the city council during a study session this week and may be considered by the council as early as Feb. 14. (FOX31)Car theft impound fees ad insult to injury. Having your stolen car found is great news, but then you have to pay hundreds of dollars for impound fees, it's a slap in the face. Proposals to create statewide fund seem to be going nowhere. (7News) Affordable Housing: A long troubled strip club property is transforming into affordable housing. The City of Denver is betting big on East Colfax. City Council has plunked down $15m and the city gave Mercy Housing the land to build 82 units of deeply affordable units.
