Press release from the Montgomery County Community College:
Diane VanDyke
February 8, 2022
Students in Montgomery County Community College's American National Government classes have the opportunity to hear firsthand what it is like to serve as an elected official.
For the spring semester, several local and state officials from Montgomery County will be visiting the classroom to talk about their backgrounds, how they became involved in public service and their general experience in public office. All discussions are non-partisan.
The students, as part of their assignments, research the backgrounds of the elected officials, including some of their key issues and legislation, and then will craft questions for them to answer during their visit. Afterward, students analyze each discussion and will write and submit essays selecting which elected official they feel embodies "a servant of the people."
Schedule for the spring semester:
M/W/F, 9:30 a.m. -10:25 a.m.
M/W/F, 11 a.m. - 11:55 a.m.
T/Th, 10:10 a.m. -11:35 a.m.
