NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt. ARRESTS SUSPENDED/REVOKED DRIVER'S LICENSE Patrick H. Hamilton, 24, of the 1400 block of Wescott Road, Northbrook, is accused of driving on a suspended license, suspended registration, illegal transportation of alcohol, and was arrested at 1:53 a.m. Jan. 29, at Shermer and Sherman. Hamilton was released after posting $3,000 bond and a court date of March 17 was assigned. HARASSMENT BY ELECTRONIC DEVICE Coria S. Thornton, 31, of the 2700 block of W. 83rd Street, Chicago, is accused of harassment and obscene communications by electronic device, cyberstalking, and was arrested. Bond was set at $500,000 and a future court date was pending at the time of the report. DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE Charles H. Herndon, Jr., 67, of the 0-100 block of The Court of Hidden Wells, Northbrook, is accused of driving under the influence, failure to reduce speed, transportation of open alcohol, improper lane usage, and was arrested at noon Feb. 1, in the 1900 block of Waukegan Road. They were released after posting $1,000 bond and a court date of Feb. 25 was assigned. RETAIL THEFT Elonda Kim Johnson, 51, of Mankato, Minnesota, is accused of retail theft, and was arrested at 12:50 p.m. Feb. 1, at Nordstrom Rack, 100 block of Skokie Lane. They were released after posting $1,000 bond and a court date of Feb. 18 was assigned. NO VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE Josefat Garcia-Roa, 43, of the 3200 block of Eric Boulevard, Park City, is accused of not having a valid driver's license, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and an outstanding warrant out of Lake County, and was arrested at 4:45 p.m. Feb. 1, at Skokie Boulevard and Sunset Ridge. They were released after posting bond and assigned a court date of Feb. 17. LAST WEEK: Woman Returns After Being Asked To Leave Hotel INCIDENTS RETAIL THEFT An employee of DSW, 100 block of Skokie Boulevard, reported at 12:11 p.m. Jan. 28, two men in their 30s took several boxes of boots and left the store without paying for the items.An employee of Mariano's, 700 block of Skokie Boulevard, called police at 1:20 p.m. Jan. 31, to report a man wearing a mask exited the store without paying for a bottle of alcohol.CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY A person called police at 10:21 p.m. Jan. 28, to report that while in traffic at Willow and Shermer roads, they noticed a vehicle that they believed belonged to a friend and he honked twice at the car. The occupants of the car began yelling at the complainant, and one occupant exited the vehicle and struck the complainant's vehicle with their fist. RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY A resident in the 2200 block of Maple Avenue reported at 10:10 a.m. Jan. 23, they found the rear door of the residence damaged by someone and open. Complainant related that the residence was rummaged through and did not know what was missing.A resident in the 700 block of Charlemagne Drive called police at 2:32 p.m. Feb. 2, to report that after shoveling snow, they went inside their residence to rest. After resting, the complainant said that two men were inside the residence. The resident said that they pushed the two men out and they left in a truck.IDENTITY THEFT A Techny Road resident called police at 11:45 a.m. Jan. 31, to report they received two debit cards in the mail that they did not apply for. FORGERY A person reported at 1:12 p.m. Jan. 31, that someone altered and cashed a check they had written without permission at a business in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road. THEFT FROM VEHICLE A resident in the 600 block of Dundee Road reported on Jan. 31 that between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m someone removed the catalytic convertor from their vehicle.A resident in the 3600 block of Woodhead Drive called police at 12:35 p.m. Feb. 1, to report someone removed the catalytic convertor from their vehicle.THEFT A person in the 60 block of Revere Drive reported at 4:47 p.m. Feb. 2, someone removed the catalytic convertor from their vehicle.A person called police at 11:25 a.m. Feb. 3, to report someone removed a black purse that contained credit cards from a table in the 1800 block of Raymond Drive.An employee of Optics Planet, 3100 block of Commercial Avenue, reported on Feb. 3 a customer made a purchase and returned several items. The employee said that the customer was sent an upgraded item and in return, the customer was to return the latest product that they purchased. Complainant said the customer returned something other than their product.
