CONCORD, NH — A man from Manchester was arrested on drunken driving and speeding charges after a car crash on Sunday. At just after 11:15 p.m., Concord police and fire and rescue teams were sent to an accident on Carter Hill Road between Bog Road and West Parish Road. Dispatchers began receiving calls about the accident saying a car struck some trees, drove down an embankment, and burst into flames. Dispatch reported the driver was already out of the vehicle. "It sounds like it is fully involved," a capital region dispatcher told firefighters before they arrived. When they arrived, the battalion chief confirmed the vehicle was engulfed in flames. Police reported later it was a 2015 BMW sedan. Both police and firefighters stated wires were entangled in the trees, too, but a nearby utility pole was not struck. The roadway was closed on both sides as firefighters began dousing the fire. The driver, who initially complained of a hand injury, was checked and medically cleared. He had a minor abrasion to his hand, a police officer told dispatch. The car was registered out of Nevada. The battalion chief told dispatch firefighters were going to be on-scene for a bit, calling the fire "stubborn," due to the fuel spreading and sustaining the fire around the car. After field sobriety tests, police arrested Jonathan Henderson, 22, of Manchester on driving while intoxicated and speeding charges. NEWS 603 posted two videos of the burning car on Facebook. Here is the second video. Got a news tip? Send it to [email protected]. View videos on Tony Schinella's YouTube.com channel or Rumble.com channel.
