PLUMSTEAD, PA — Police arrested a 38-year-old Doylestown man Sunday after his girlfriend said he burned her with a lit cigarette. The Plumstead Township Police Department responded to a call about a domestic dispute on the 4600 block of Old Easton Road around 1:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers said an adult woman in the home told them that her long-time boyfriend, Justin Way of Doylestown, burned her with a lit cigarette. Police said they discovered injuries consistent with a burn mark on her chest. Way left the area on foot before police arrived, according to a news release from officers. Police later found him at a Doylestown home and took him into custody without incident. This is not his first time seeing criminal charges; back in October, he was arrested and faced multiple charges after police said he threatened people in Burpee Park with a pellet gun in his waistband. Way was charged Sunday with simple assault and sent to Buck County Correctional Facility, where he awaits his preliminary hearing. Then on Monday, he was charged in a separate complaint by Plumstead Township Police for terroristic threats toward the same woman. He will be arraigned for that charge on Wednesday, police said.
