This coming weekend, the McAninch Arts Center, located at 425 Fawell Blvd., presents two shows guaranteed share with your Valentine: "Piaf! The Show," 7:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 11. Tickets: $50-$70 Valentine's Day weekend, the MAC hosts this musical celebration, inspired by the life of the Edith Piaf and the award-winning movie "La Vie En Rose." The show, presented at Carnegie Hall in 2017, follows the rags-to riches story of the Parisian singer's career through her unforgettable songs, complemented by a visual tapestry of previously unreleased photographs and images of famous Parisian locations of the Edith Piaf era. Performing the title role will be Nathalie Lhermitte. Legendary French actor and filmmaker Alain Delon says of Lhermitte, "It is because she is a great singer and a great actress, that she does not imitate Piaf ... but that she is Piaf on stage!" The Second City and "The Best of The Second City,"5 and 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 12. Tickets: $30-$48 It's been said a shared sense of humor is important to a relationship and the MAC is happy to offer the incomparable The Second City to share with your Valentine Valentine's Day Weekend. This show features the best sketches and songs from the second city's history made famous by superstars like Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell, Gilda Radner, Bill Murray, Keegan-Michael Key, Aidy Bryant, Alan Arkin and more–as well as their trademark improvisation. It is the perfect date night or evening to enjoy with friends. Special valentine's-themed drink specials will be available. Special for DuPage County Residents: Half-Price Rush Tickets (subject to availability; restrictions apply) may be purchased by residents of DuPage County between noon and show time on the day of the performance (limit four tickets per order) at the MAC Box Office or by phone.
