ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police handled calls involving a neighbor dispute, a domestic disturbance, a shattered window, a theft from a locker, a fugitive driver, a stolen converter and insurance fraud. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports: Neighbor dispute A resident in the 800 block of North Adele told police Saturday about an ongoing dispute with a neighbor that started in August. An investigation is pending. Domestic disturbance A domestic disturbance happened at 11 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of North Larch Avenue. A woman said she was in an argument with a man. Police found no signs of injuries. Both parties agreed to separate for the evening. Shattered window An officer found a car with a shattered driver's side window Saturday morning at SpringHill Suites by Marriott, 410 W. Lake St. It was determined to have happened overnight by a person attempting to get into the car. Entry was not gained. Nothing appeared to be missing. Locker theft A man told police Saturday that someone removed credit cards and money from his wallet, which was in a locker at LA Fitness, 620 N. York St. An investigation is pending. Fugitive driver An officer attempted to stop a driver about 1 a.m. Sunday in the 7600 block of West North Avenue for improper lane usage and tinted windows. The driver sped away, last seen heading east on Interstate 290. The driver was described as a black man, about 20 to 25 years old and wearing a winter-style hat with ear flaps. Converter stolen A catalytic converter was stolen Sunday from a car in a parking lot on Elm Creek Drive. Insurance fraud A resident in the 100 block of Berteau told police Sunday that someone gained access to his insurance account information and changed the location of the insured property. Damage at dealership A person told police that while doing work Sunday at Rob Baker Ford, 655 W. Grand Ave., someone damaged the rearview mirror on his loaner vehicle. The suspect was described as a white man, 30 years old, 5-foot-2, having a medium build and brown hair, and wearing jeans and a red sweatshirt. An investigation is pending. Injured cat Police received a report of an injured cat about 10:30 p.m. Sunday in the 900 block of North York Street. An officer found the cat, which appeared to have an injury to its hind legs. The officer took the cat to an animal hospital.
