ILLINOIS — Players with roots at Downers Grove North and College of DuPage will face off when the Los Angeles Rams take on the Cincinnati Bengals at Super Bowl 56 in California on Feb. 13.
David Edwards, 24, who got his start as a quarterback for Downers Grove North, will play left guard for the Rams, according to the Peoria Journal Star. After graduating from Downers North, Edwards played for the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was drafted to the Los Angeles Rams in 2019.

Former College of DuPage football player Mike Thomas, 27, will play wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals. Thomas began his National Football League career with the Los Angeles Rams in 2016 and played for them for four seasons before joining forces with the Bengals.
So far, tickets for Super Bowl 56 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood are inching toward record prices. Those who are reluctant to shell out the cash to see the game in person can tune in to NBC on broadcast television or watch the live stream on Peacock, the NBC Sports app or at NBCSports.com.
Kickoff is at 5:30 p.m. CST.
