Goat Devours Documents In Douglas County Deputy's Patrol Car

DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA — While a Douglas County sheriff's deputy was serving papers, a hungry goat was serving itself breakfast in the deputy's car, in video released Friday by the sheriff's department. According to a Facebook post, the deputy often leaves her car door open when she serves papers, just in case she has to make a quick escape from vicious dogs. Instead, a goat saw the open door as an invitation to chow down. The deputy returned to her car to find the goat standing in the front seat, eating some of those papers. After responding with some "mild cursing," as the post puts it, the deputy tried unsuccessfully to coax the goat out of the car. Then she went to the other side and tried to push the goat out. No luck there, either. Finally, after a few more attempts, the deputy managed to push out the goat, papers still hanging from its mouth. The goat thanked her by strewing the paper across the house's lawn and head-butting her to the ground. The deputy was not physically injured, and neither was the goat. The incident occurred on Sept. 1. "We all got a little laugh out of it, and we hope you do as well," concluded the post from the sheriff's office.
