Press release from San Diego County Sheriff's Department: 02/07/2022 4:20 PM  SYNOPSIS OR SUMMARY OF INCIDENT  On February 7, 2022, at approximately 6:22 am, deputies assigned to the San Marcos Sheriff's Station Traffic Division responded to a major injury collision in the 400 block of North Twin Oaks Valley Road, in the city of San Marcos.  During the preliminary investigation, deputies learned a 2001 Honda Civic, driven by a 59 year-old male, entered the traffic lanes of North Twin Oaks Valley Road, and was broadsided by a 1999 Toyota 4-Runner, driven by a 32 year-old male, that was northbound on North Twin Oaks Valley Road.  The collision caused the Honda Civic to collide with a late model BMW 328i, driven by a 21 year-old female.  The drivers of the Toyota 4-Runner and BMW were not injured.  The driver of the Honda Civic sustained major injuries and was treated by San Marcos Fire Department Personnel.  He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased from his injuries.   The roadway was closed in both directions for several hours while investigators documented the scene.    Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or captured the incident on video is asked to contact the Sheriff's Department.  Media Contact: Sergeant Charles Morreale Email Address of Contact: [email protected] Name of Station/Unit and Contact Phone Number: San Marcos Sheriff's Station - Traffic Division (760) 510-5200     This press release was produced by San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
