Description
COBB COUNTY, GA — Cobb County firefighters saved a life Friday as they resuscitated an unconscious cat while battling a house fire in Marietta.
Just before 1 p.m. Friday, Cobb firefighters were dispatched to a house fire on Talley Street. Fire department officials said crews were on the scene in three minutes, and saw smoke and flames coming out of a window.
Firefighters put out the fire in the kitchen before it spread to the rest of the house. While searching the home for victims, they found a cat — unconscious — in the bedroom.
One of the firefighters took her out of the smoke-filled house while the rest continued searching, and started revival measures using an oxygen therapy rescue mask.
"The kitty regained consciousness after 20 minutes of care the kitty was reunited with her happy owner," Cobb fire officials said.
