According to Census data, in: 2014, there were approximately 108,473 2014, there were 31,216 black-owned health care and social assistance firms; 15,078 professional, scientific, and technical support businesses; and 9,644 administrative, support, waste management and remediation services 2016, there were approximately 121,466 2017, there were approximately 124,004 2020, there were approximately 134,567 2020, there were 39,705 health care and social assistance firms, accounting for about 29.5% of all African American owned businesses.
