Description
I think it's fair to "wonder". I'm a guitar/bass player of nearly 30 years and I check the Musicians list nearly everyday. I consider myself to be a "real" musician, but many may have their own definition of that. I have a tremendous amount of influences: Children of Bodom, Devin Townsend, Killswitch Engage, to Tears for Fears, The Cure, Talk Talk, to Smashing Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, to geez...Sixpence None The Richer or even Jazz or electronic. I was in a band for five years and played live shows regularly.
BUT, I think it's very difficult to find musicians (well musicians in general these days) that are interested in the same genre(s), have similar skill level, and have the same dedication/commitment. I myself am a father of three younger children, so even though I would love to commit to a big project, play live, or even tour, I can't make that commitment right now. So, there may just be a lot of circumstance around why you haven't been able to find the right musician for your project. But I wanted to let you know they do exist, I'm one of them.
