Enjoy learning about New Mexico ecosystems, help restore the natural lands of New Mexico, while earning money, scholarships, and meeting new people. Rocky Mountain Youth Corps is currently hiring for our 2022 Conservation season. Positions are paid AmeriCorps terms of service working on Hazardous Fuel Reduction (Chainsaw thinning), and Conservation Projects. Members receive experience working with federal, state, tribal and local land managing agencies. Crewmembers work on maintaining trails, erosion control, invasive species removal, forest restoration, fire prevention, and more. All project work requires a camping schedule (Spike-8 days on, followed by six days off) throughout the season.
This is a great way for entry level positions in both Federal and State agencies. All positions receive personal and professional development including: CPR/1st Aid, Mental Health First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, financial management, and much more!
