Description

DEARBORN, MI — Officials from the city of Dearborn issued a statement Monday reminding residents that Governor Gretchen Whitmer's "Stay Home, Stay Safe" executive order prohibits them from gathering with people who do no tlive outside their household. The order was put in place last week to reduce the potential spread of the new coronavirus, otherwise known as COVID-19. According to the order, "all public and private gatherings of any number of people occurring among persons not part of a single household are prohibited." There are some exceptions, however. Residents are allowed to leave their homes for some reasons, such as for groceries or other necessities, but in doing so they must follow social distancing guidelines provided by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), such as remaining six feet away from people outside the individual's household. Other allowed activities are some outdoor activities; caring for family members; or obtaining necessary services or supplies. The order can be read in its entirety here. Anyone who willfully violates the order could be subject to a misdemeanor charge.
