Meet An "Amazing" Who Portrays Historical Figures

Ronald Pickup, at 80, is still going at full warp speed in his acting career, averaging a feature film (or several TV shows) per year. Although Ronald's film career began with "Dr. Who" in 1964, what is astonishing is the number of famous historical figures he has portrayed. They include composers Verdi and Stravinsky, author George Orwell, Thomas Cranmer (Archbishop of Canterbury), Neville Chamberlain (Prime Minister of Great Britain) and an array of other equally fascinating characters. Ronald's ability to adopt the persona of such a wide variety of individuals makes him truly an "actor's actor." Among his awards, my personal favorite is his SAG award for "Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture" shared with the other cast members of "Best Exotic Marigold Hotel."
