5 years ago I was lucky...my employer got 6 tickets to the "Desert Trip" concert in Indio, California, and he took me along as a guest... Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones, Paul Mcartney, Roger Waters, The WHO, oh yes, and...Neil Young. While old Neil was up on the enormous stage, he proceeded to throw bags of seeds out into the audience. Many, many bags of seeds for various types of plants. Mr. Young then explained that California recently enacted a new law that prohibited moving any type of agricultural seeds from one county to another without government approval. He then urged everyone to take the seeds and distribute them throughout the state. During his concert he performed many of his older songs, some of which touted resistance, freedom, and acceptance. Now I think that Neil might be turning into the "Old Man" that he sings about...he doesn't like Joe Rogan so he wants him "cancelled". And Neil pulled his music library from Spotify. Did Neil realize that Spotify is a company based in Sweden, with a worldwide audience, that probably has little concern with Mr.Youngs political leanings and more interest in listeners and income. If any readers of this post are interested in a pile of CD's...I will be eliminating my selections of Neil Young and other "artists" whose political preachings do not agree with mine. I am sure this post will outrage some people, but please allow others to see and read it here on Craigslist. I am not stating any "mis-information" or inflammatory rhetoric...Just my opinion (are we still free to express those??) and what I saw and heard at a fantastic concert (with the exception of political rantings by Neil Young aand Roger Waters...)
