Responsible for receiving, checking, marking, storing, and issuing supplies, and for maintaining stock records and preparing reports. Responsibilities: • Receive materials from vendors, and check materials in; load and unload bulk materials that are delivered to Central Stores daily; process defective merchandise for exchange by vendor or send to salvage. • Research paperwork on the computer to match requisition number and purchase order number to ensure the correct paperwork is pulled, maintaining files and receiving logs as required. • Research discrepancies found in the material being received by noting on the purchase order by tracing cost paperwork. Notify shop personnel of deliveries ready for pick up, and expedite the delivery of material. • Conduct weekly inventory cycle counts. Maintain and operate kitting area to store materials for specific in-process projects. • Inspect issue forms for proper format and correct errors on issue forms to ensure accuracy of forms. • Develop custodial delivery schedules for daily Custodial Services deliveries. Deliver and pick up supplies within the campus and Austin area. Driving University-owned vehicles to job sites will be required for this and most other functions. • Communicate effectively with stores customers and coworkers to ensure effective and efficient daily operation of the store's unit, and a high level of customer satisfaction. • Operate and inspect forklifts, pallet jacks, delivery van, trucks, and dollies to ensure safe operation of warehouse equipment. • Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: High school graduation, GED or vocational school. Three years of experience in receiving, storing, issuing, and accounting for property in a store's unit. Forklift certification. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications: More than three years of experience in receiving, storing, issuing, and accounting for property in a store's unit. Completion of bookkeeping and courses related to stock room operations. More than five years of experience in receiving, storing, issuing, and accounting for property in a store's unit. Some of the required experience acquired at The University of Texas. Driving Required: This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three-year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.
