Celebrating BLAQ Hockey History. 100% FREE & FOR EVERYONE!!! BRING FAMILY & FRIENDS! We are excited to partner with The Portland WinterHawks to celebrate BLAQ Athletes and their impact on the ice. Black Hockey History Night is part of the Hockey is for Everyone initiative. We incorporated this event into our season to create awareness, empowerment and access for BLAQ students and families in the sport of hockey, its industry and community. Doors open at 3:00PM. The presentation starts at 3:30 PM. The first 50 people to arrive will receive a free Black Hockey History T-Shirt. Image Attached What's Happening? We’ll screen the movie Soul On Ice, have a Q&A with the first black captain of the Portland Winterhawks, Keegan Iverson, share the rules of hockey with our Hockey 101 video, and then enjoy the Winterhawks take on the rival Seattle Thunderbirds at 6 PM. Do We Have to Wear A Mask Required? Yes. The VMC, Rose Quarter and the Portland Winterhawks follow all CDC guidelines.Masks are required indoors per local ordinances at this time. Do you have to be vaccinated to attend? Per the Rose Quarter policy, all fans aged 12 and up need to show proof of vaccination, a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of the event, or a negative lab-based rapid test taken within 48 hours of the event.
