Join Skål Beer Hall for a five course spirits & cocktail pairing dinner as part of our Valhalla Dinner Series! Join us for our monthly Valhalla Dinner Series! For our next feast, we welcome our friends from Iceland, Brennivin & 64° Reykjavik Distillery. They'll join us on Sunday 2/27 for a five course dinner and cocktail/spirits pairing worthy of the gods! For this dinner, we explore the concept of convergent evolution in island nations. Convergent evolution is the development of similar cultural adaptations to similar environmental conditions by different peoples with different ancestral cultures. In this special edition of our Valhalla Dinner Series, we will be highlighting culinary similarities between Icelandic and Japanese cultures paired with spirits from Iceland. This is a five course meal with pairings at four of them featuring aquavit from Brennivin and liqueurs from 64° Reykjavik Distillery. There will be two sessions at 4p and 730p. The menu for the evening includes: Warm Up: Cucumber Sunomono w/ Toasted Sesame Dressing and Bonito Flakes paired with Rhubarb Collins with rosemary and rhubarb garnish From the Fryer: Icelandic Seafood Potato CroquetteFrom the Sea: Seared Ahi Tuna with Brennivin Vinaigrette paired with a Brennivin Rugbraud SnapFrom the Cauldron: Miso Fiskisupa with Salmon and Shiso Tempura paired with a Crowberry Mule with candied ginger garnish From the Baker: Nutella Banana Puff Pastry with matcha whipped cream paired with 64° Reykjavik Distillery Blueberry Liqueur You'll have the opportunity to hear from and engage with both the Brennivin and 64° Reykjavik team traveling all the way from Iceland!
