Helping the Law Enforcement community learn more about mental illness and how to interact with and engage people in crisis. *For Law Enforcement Only *** Please Register ONLY 4 officers from your department per each training session*** ALSO NOTE: CLASSES 1-5 WILL BE HELD AT TRI-C, WESTERN CAMPUS, 11000 W. Pleasant Valley Road, Public Safety Training Center, ROOM 212, PARMA, OH 44130. The Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) Board of Cuyahoga County is offering Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Training April 25-29 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will provide updated information to officers in Cuyahoga County on engaging and communicating with people in crisis. As part of the ADAMHS Board's initiative to expand CIT training in the county, each police department will receive reimbursement in the amount of $150 per officer, per day to help remove financial barriers to training. Officers must complete the full 40-hour training for their department to receive reimbursement. Upon completion of the training, officers will receive a certificate of attendance. The training will cover: Review of Mental Illness & Substance Use Disorder, Use of the Emergency Certificate (i.e. Pink Slip), Overview of the new Cuyahoga County Diversion Center, De-escalation strategies, Verbal Judo, Scenario Based Activities, and much more. The ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga County's mission is to enhance the quality of life for our community through a commitment to excellence in mental health and addiction prevention, treatment and recovery services coordinated through a person-centered network of community supports. Vision: Mental health, addiction, prevention, treatment and recovery services will be available and accessible for every county resident in need and the ADAMHS Board will provide a preeminent, seamless and integrated system of care.
