SMITHTOWN, NY — The Smithtown Central School District will be closed on Thursday due to the snowstorm hitting Long Island, according to an announcement on its website.
"Please note that Thursday will be a traditional snow day, and there will be no school delivered instruction," Superintendent Mark Secaur wrote on Facebook. "It is my hope that you and your family will enjoy an unexpected day of rest and/or fun outdoor activities. Put away your devices, make some hot chocolate, read a book, build a snowman….whatever brings you joy. Stay safe, be well and Happy Holidays to all!"
